University of Pretoria's Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) celebrated the graduation of 636 students from its flagship Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA), Post Graduate Diploma in General Management (PGDip GM), and Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) last week.
The graduation event was held at the Aula theatre at the University of Pretoria's main campus in Hatfield. The newly minted students were addressed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Chery de le Rey and GIBS Dean, Professor Nicola Kleyn.
Professor Kleyn, said: "Congratulations to you all. The sacrifices you have made have all been worth it in the end. This momentous achievement however, does not mean that your journey ends today, we hope that you will take this knowledge that you have acquired and work towards building a better South Africa."
Professor Klein also presented Top Student awards to: Elisha Govender from the PDBA class who attained 8 distinctions, Candice Walls, PGDip class with 10 distinctions, Top MBA student award went to Keshav Sahadev with 8 distinctions and Top MBA Research Report was awarded to Chandon Bezuidenhout.
In her closing remarks, Professor Kleyn said: "You now have not only a lifelong network of fellow graduates but a large network of business connections that you will no doubt be working with in your companies."
