Presenting Third Thursdays: A dialogue series for change.
Food security is one of the greatest challenges that has faced and continues to face the country. It is estimated that over 7 million people are currently food insecure. This, coupled with the fact that a majority of South African households have a weak purchasing power, are greatly dependent on social grants, and government has a poor support network for disaster management systems during droughts and floods among other challenges, create for a worrisome picture.
LEADSA and The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), Centre for Leadership and Dialogue are hosting a series of critical conversation called the Third Thursday series. The conversations will be around a particular theme, and for July, the focus will be on food security.
The topic is: What is Business' role in ensuring food security in South Africa.
