Accredited by the SA Medical Association for HPCSA professionals.

The outbreak of Covid highlighted pre-existing problems and dilemmas in our healthcare industry, not least of which the supply of suitably regulated medical devices. With global supply chains interrupted and abandoned, opportunistic extortion and a market flooded with sub-standard equipment became the order of the day. To attribute this problem solely to COVID-19 would be limiting, as the issue is far broader and not a new one.

We can now either continue as before or learn from recent events and change the trajectory. Establishing an enabling regulatory environment is crucial as this will create opportunities to leverage off advances in additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and the titanium value chain to position South Africa optimally to become more self-sufficient in healthcare device manufacturing.

Join us for a look at the innovations changing the face of the medical device sector, what they mean for patients, and the future of healthcare.
