Many companies have made some form of investment in building a design capability but struggle to unlock value both immediately and over the long-term. According to the Design Management Institute, when design principles are applied to strategy and innovation, the success rate for innovation dramatically improves. Design-led companies such as Apple, Coca-Cola, IBM, Nike, Procter & Gamble, and Whirlpool have outperformed the S&P 500 over the past 10 years by an extraordinary 219%. This forum will share valuable insights and practical tools to identify and design for underserved segments and unmet needs.

Speaker
Terry Behan combines a strong background in innovation, strategy, and design. He manages and leads agile design teams that deliver innovative social and commercial solutions that seek to address the challenges of our time. He works across the USA, Africa, India, and the Middle East. His design portfolio includes projects in online education, neuroscience, financial inclusivity, online retail, as well as AI & IoT. He holds an MSc in design strategy and management from Parsons School of Art and Design, currently rated the top design school in North America. Terry is also a GIBS faculty member, focusing on innovation and design.
