The world of sustainability reporting has experienced two significant developments: the IFRS Sustainability Disclosures Standards, and the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
These developments are a “significant milestone” in the realization of a strengthened global corporate reporting system, in which disclosure on impacts through the GRI Standards and sustainability-related risks and opportunities through the ISSB are on an equal footing.
To help reporting companies and investors navigate the sustainability reporting system as well as progress towards interoperability in the reporting landscape, GRI’s Africa Network in collaboration with the Gordon Institute of Business Science is hosting an event on Interoperability between GRI Standards, ESRS, and IFRS Standards. We will be reviewing the implications of the progress towards a strengthened sustainability reporting system, and we will share some views on how organizations that apply GRI for determining and reporting their impacts are well placed to determine the risks and opportunities to their organization arising from those impacts when using IFRS standards.
This event will provide an excellent opportunity to have your questions answered and hear some insights and analysis of the developments in the sustainability reporting landscape. We look forward to welcoming you.
