On 23 June, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union (EU). Since then, Theresa May has taken over from David Cameron as Prime Minister, created new Ministries, including to deliver on the referendum result. Meanwhile over the Atlantic the US faces one of the most divisive and fractious elections in recent history. Prime Minister May has been clear that "Brexit means Brexit" - and that the UK will make a success of it. How is the UK approaching this unprecedented situation? What happens next? And, in the longer term, what does Brexit mean for the UK's relationship with South Africa, and for the UK's place on the international stage?   We also explore what impact the outcome of the US elections will have on US foreign policy and how this could impact on South Africa.
