In years gone by, this was world inhabited by a very few: the Chairman, the CEO, or maybe the company PR Officer. Now, it’s a world we’re all part of, all the time.
As well as traditional outlets like TV, radio and print, we also now have an endless array of rapidly changing social media to consider.
If you have any kind of expertise, or even just strong opinions, it’s now a certainty that at some point in the near future, you’ll be asked for comment or you’ll feel an urge to speak up. Doctor or dentist, lawyer or accountant, academic or just an ordinary person in business, you need to be prepared and to understand the basics of interacting with the media.
Chris will also explore what has changed: working from home; how to make the most of the camera on your laptop for that Zoom conference or online appearance; the need for authenticity in a post-Covid world.
One important module of the course is Crisis Communications. It’s not a question of ‘if’ a crisis will hit, but ‘when’. Chris will outline how to prepare for that moment, what to do when it happens, and what to do afterwards.
Participants will be guided by Chris through 10 course modules:
Why we need media training
Crafting Stories & Messages
TV
Radio
Print
Social Media
We’re all TV stars now – Zoom and the Post-Covid World
Crisis Communications
Tips and Techniques, including how to overcome fear
Corporate Culture and Communication
Each module will be ‘bite-sized’, with the total time needed to complete the course of approximately 240 minutes.
Each participant will be able to have a personal, private, one-on-one Zoom session with Chris of 30 minutes (or 2 x 15 minutes) to ask questions and deal with issues and concerns.
