The GIBS Leader as Coach course will equip you with professionally aligned coaching skills that can be easefully embedded in your current managerial style. Leader as Coach means developing high-performing and motivated teams for sustainable and impactful business results.

As a leader, you want your organisational success to be built from team collaboration. You want to be an inclusive leader that is approachable, accountable and self-aware. It is possible to achieve high levels of performance as a human-centric and empathetic leader.

It requires something different.

Coaching is key to distinguishing highly effective leaders and managers from average ones. The power of coaching offers a new way of leading individuals for collective change, improved accountability, innovative thinking and increased agility, resulting in improved relationships and results.

Leaders and managers who leverage coaching skills are increasingly sought after as they possess the capabilities that are deemed highly relevant within organisations.

This course, is led by Tanya Stevens - GIBS' Professional Associate and founder of BeClear, an executive coaching and human advisory business. Tanya is accredited with the International Coach Federation (PCC). In addition to her multiple qualifications in coaching, Tanya has a master's degree in Management: Business and Executive Coaching (Cum Laude), from University of the Witwatersrand Business School and a master's degree MS in Consulting and Coaching for Change (Cum Laude) from Said Business School (Oxford) and HEC (France).

Key focus areas:
  • Exposure to the latest coaching practices, philosophies and trends;
  • A blended approach with both robust and topical theory and case studies as well as practical application;
  • Individually selected and highly accomplished Mentor Coaches for real-time feedback on coaching skills;
  • One-on-one discussions with your dedicated Mentor Coach;
  • Intimate group sizes with the opportunity to build a new network; and
  • A safe learning space where your current business challenges can be shared to create new potential solutions through coaching practices.
This course is aligned to internationally recognised professional coaching competencies; this aligned positioning will equip you to continue your accredited coach training with GIBS, should you choose.

Admission is based on professional requirements to attain new or enhance your skills.

  • Middle to senior line managers and organisational leaders; 
  • HR, learning, and talent practitioners Internal coaches/ manager of internal and external coaching programmes; and
  • Professionals seeking an entry point for professional coaching skills development.

This course is aligned to internationally recognised professional coaching competencies; this aligned positioning will equip you to continue your accredited coach training with GIBS, should you choose.

GIBS does not charge VAT on tuition fees and all prices are subject to change.

Special Requirements

Special Needs: If you have a special need or disability, GIBS will look into accommodating this. Application is processed and you will receive a reference number after your application is successfully received.

Successful applicants will receive a letter of acceptance.

The invoice will be issued and payment is to be made. 



Please ensure the billing details are correct when completing the application form as any request to make amendments will delay your application. Ensure you have the VAT number should your company be funding the tuition fees.

The Programme is led by internationally qualified Integral coach, Tanya Stevens, who is also the founder of BECLEAR. 

Tanya is a Professional Associate at GIBS where she works as a coach, lecturer and facilitator. She is an internationally qualified executive business coach (NVW & ICF PCC) and founded her coaching and consultancy business BeClear in 2006. Tanya holds a Masters Degree in Management from Wits, cum laude and a Specialised Masters Degree in Coaching and Consulting for Change from Oxford’s Said Business School (UK) and HEC (France) cum laude. Tanya teaches coaching skills to large South African organisations, in addition to international work. Prior to founding BECLEAR, Tanya owned the first real estate company in South Africa to operate as a network of independent affiliated professionals. Tanya's business saw double-digit growth when the industry was in decline, due to its innovative employee retention and marketing strategies. She was awarded the 'Young Lion' Property Professional award by the Property Association at the age of 29. This perfectly positions Tanya to address organization and human capital complexities, and think systemically when working with leadership and management potential. Faculty and lecturers may include Senior Faculty from GIBS, selected local and international faculty, as well as leading industry practitioners and experts.
