Entrepreneurship is critical to the success and growth of any business. Corporate entrepreneurship is the process of building a new business from within an established organisation – a new business that is distinct from the core company but that leverages some of the core company’s capabilities or resources. To be an effective corporate entrepreneur an individual needs to identify and evaluate opportunities, develop a business model and a business plan, manage and mitigate risks, marshall support and resources, and launch the new venture – adapting and learning as they go.

How you will benefit

This programme is designed to empower managers, entrepreneurs and specialists with the tools and frameworks to effectively establish a new business from within an existing organisation.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities;
  • Apply global best practice and the latest academic research on corporate entrepreneurship;
  • Design new businesses to exploit emerging opportunities;
  • Manage and mitigate risks when launching a new business;
  • Communicate and sell new business ideas within an existing organisation;
  • Establish and lead a team to initiate a new venture; and
  • Manage the growth and development of a new business from within an existing organisation.

Who should attend?

This programme is designed for managers and entrepreneurs with a desire and passion to create and grow new ventures from within an existing organisation. If you fall into one of the following categories you are likely to benefit significantly from the programme:

  • You are an executive or senior manager within an existing mid-sized or large organisation, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and you are looking to lead a project to launch a new business to leverage the capabilities or resources of your existing organisation;
  • You are an entrepreneur and you have been at the helm of an organisation that you founded for a number of years. The organisation has stabilised and you are now looking for an opportunity to launch a new venture that leverages the resources and capabilities of the organisation that you founded; and
  • You are a high-potential manager and are looking for an opportunity to take your career in a direction that is different from the traditional path of climbing the corporate ladder over time. You yearn for the autonomy and freedom of launching a new venture, but would like to do it with the backing and resources from within an existing organisation. You recognise that identifying a good growth opportunity for your existing organisation and launching a business to pursue that opportunity will provide you with a platform to fulfil some of your potential.
