GIBS’ programmes are delivered by highly-qualified, world-class local and international faculty. They are highly experienced, innovative and their teaching is enhanced by relevant business management involvement and rigorous applied research.
As “the business school for business”, GIBS frequently draws on the expertise of leading business people from both the corporate and entrepreneurial environments to complement its full-time teaching faculty.
The result is a multifaceted teaching team that exposes participants on GIBS’ programmes to uniquely different perspectives and challenges their thinking on multiple levels.

Roelof received his early schooling in Stockholm (Sweden), Cologne (Germany) The Hague (The Netherlands) Christiana (North West), Cape Town and Pretoria.
Since then, he has followed a diversified career in management accounting, financial journalism, lecturing, economic research and consulting. Numerous opportunities have been utilised to contribute to the formulation of macro-economic policies within several of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries. He is a regular commentator on topical macroeconomic issues (in the national and regional media) and has authored more than 300 articles, books and research publications.
His Honours and Masters degrees were both obtained cum laude at the University of Pretoria, whilst the Doctorate was completed at Rand Afrikaans University. He was granted three achievement bursaries and won two academic excellence awards during his studies. He has participated in competitive soccer, cricket and sport parachuting.
In 2005, he received the prestigious Sake24 Economist of the Year award, based on the accuracy of forecasts of key economic indicators.
He is currently Joint Managing Director of a multi-disciplinary research company that specialises in development facilitation and has been an economic advisor (part-time) to PricewaterhouseCoopers for the past 18 years.
Combined with teaching courses in applied macroeconomics at the University of Pretoria, The University of Johannesburg (formerly RAU), the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and Tshwane University of Technology, this has ensured continued exposure to decision-makers in virtually all of the country’s economic sectors.
Areas of expertise include overviews and forecasts of key economic indicators (e. g. exchange rates, interest rates, GDP growth and capital formation); sector-specific analysis of demand and supply conditions; macro-economic impact assessments; trends with regard to emerging market economies; and the domestic and international socio-political milieu.
In his own unique style of blending the serious matters of economics and politics with the lighter side of life, Roelof has managed to captivate audiences within Southern Africa. Most of his presentations are regarded as broadly motivational, in terms of highlighting research that confirms numerous positive structural changes in the South African economy, including an objective reflection on the prospects for sustained growth & development and the enhancement of socio- economic stability in the SADC region.

Greg Fisher CA (SA) MBA (Cum Laude) is a lecturer, researcher and PhD student at the University of Washington in Seattle and a visiting lecturer at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. He lectures and conducts research in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy. Prior to going abroad to complete his PhD he was a senior lecturer at GIBS.
Before getting into academia Greg founded and ran a training products business called Learninglab and prior to that he worked as Senior Manager in the Learning and Development Department at Deloitte. |

Greg has served as Chairman of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) continuing professional development committee and he consults to a number of South African organisations on issues of strategy, growth and innovation.

Luisa teaches the Marketing Planning and Customer Management Module for the GIBS Full Time MBA as well as an MBA Elective “Web 2.0 and Social Media – Marketing in a Connected World”.
Luisa completed her MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in 2005. The title of her research thesis was “Measuring the Economic Value that Marketing Contributes to an Organisation”.

Luisa is the CEO of two businesses, CUBE [ON THE SQUARE] (Pty) Ltd and TheMarketingSite.com.
She founded CUBE [ON THE SQUARE], a Strategic Marketing Consultancy, in 1998 with partner Winnifred Knight.The company specialises in marketing and eBusiness strategy development, with particular focus on web, mobile and 3D gaming implementation projects, as well as database analysis, direct and interactive marketing, CRM, ERM and Loyalty programme development. CUBE [ON THE SQUARE] has consulted, developed interactive websites and implemented strategies and multi-channel campaigns for many top companies in South Africa.
In 1999, the partners developed an industry portal http://www.themarketingsite.com/, a knowledge resource focused on marketing, communications and sales. The portal has a large base of loyal users from all over the world.
Luisa travels annually to the USA and UK to attend international conferences and exhibitions. She was invited to judge the 2010 USA DMA Echo Awards in New York in her specialist fields of Social Media, Interactive Digital – strategy, creativity and results. The Echo Awards are recognized as the most prestigious direct and digital marketing awards world-wide.
Dr. Caren Scheepers

Dr. Caren Scheepers is a management consultant who has worked in various environments to gain experience in Assessments, Leadership, Team and Organisational development. The financial sector, e-commerce start-ups and international consulting environments across industries, have allowed her to pursue her interest in improving performance of individuals, teams and organisations. Caren’s passion for people development has encouraged her to pursue studies and a career in the field of psychology, management consulting and executive coaching.
Her career path includes two years as a registered Psychologist (at a clinic and Department of Labour), eight consecutive years as an internal Management Consultant in the Financial Services industry and four years as an International Consultant at Gemini Consulting. For the past eight years she functioned as an independent consultant and founded the Irodo Consulting group (Industrial Relations and Organisational Development Organisation, registered with Services Seta) and has been involved with significant improvement of the performance of executives and executive teams. |

For the past 5 years Caren has been lecturing at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science, on the MBA programme in Organisational Development and Transformation, as well as on and on the Company Specific Programmes. She also lectures at University of Stellenbosch’s Executive Education Programmes, on Leadership, Emotional Intelligence and Change Management and on the Masters in Management Coaching.
She is a registered Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator with the Services Seta. Caren holds a Ph. D. in Psychology and certificates in Organisational Development and Clinical Hypnosis. This enables her to focus her executive coaching on strategic, emotional, political and values intelligence.
Caren is an executive coach with The Centre for Creative Leadership, in Brussels and coaches in North, West and East Africa. She leads a team of psychometrists and psychologists in her consulting practice and specializses in Psychometric Assessment for hiring and development purposes. She publishes articles on Human Resources Practices and case studies on Strategic Change Management.
Her book: “Coaching Leaders: 7 ‘P’ Tools to propel change” will be published by Knowledge Resources in March 2012. Caren also holds certificates in Wine tasting and enjoys hiking (peak experience: Kilimanjaro), marathon running, art, scuba diving, cycling, 4 x 4’ing, traveling, parenting, charity and missionary projects.

| Terrence Taylor |

Terrence Okeke Taylor facilitates learning in the areas of Personal Mastery, Leadership, Change Management, Financial Management, Strategy and Management. Terrence has a B.A. in Economics, International Relations, and Afro-American Studies from Brown University and he has a M.B.A in General Management with a focus on Finance from Harvard Business School.
Terrence is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Certified (Professional Guild of NLP and International NLP Training Association) Master NLP Practitioner.

Terrence has appeared on Summit TV’s MBA Insight Series, been interviewed on Classic FM’s Executive Insight and written for Business Day’s Management Review. These appearances, interviews and writings have covered leadership, change management and personal mastery.
After graduating from Brown, Terrence worked on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ). After graduating from HBS, Terrence then worked with CitiBank in its Emerging Markets business in India, Mexico, Russia, and Singapore as a Global Emerging Markets Management Associate (GEMMA). He was then promoted to Vice President and headed CitiBank Indonesia’s Risk Analysis Unit.
Terrence then made his first career switch and joined the entrepreneurial ranks when he became CFO for an Internet start- up looking to build a portal and a pan-African ISP business. When the dotcom bubble busted and funding dried up for Internet start-ups, Terrence remained an entrepreneur, moved to South Africa and made his second career switch to management training and development. Since 2002, Terrence has been a Director of Nomad Ventures International, a consulting company specialising in change management, strategy and executive development for private and public sector companies in South Africa.

Donald Gibson
|
Donald joined GIBS in May 2008 as a part-time faculty member and the Director of the Transnet Programme in Sustainable Development.
He holds a BScAgric in Ecology from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, and an MSc in Resource Conservation Biology from Wits University. Donald is a registered environmental scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professionals and has been in the consulting industry for the last 10 years.
His consulting experience includes policy and strategy advisory for the South African government on environment and
development issues, as well as environmental and social management in the mining, forestry and agricultural sectors throughout Southern Africa. He is an Associate and Principal at SRK Consulting in Johannesburg. |
